Default Tips on where to buy used parts?

My shifter lever on my 1987 ranger broke off and now I'm in the process of trying to find another one. The Ford dealership wants about 300 bucks for a new one and I'm pretty sure I can find a used one for a whole lot less. theres non in my area though, i'm hoping someone out there knows of a place that has a lot of old ford rangers just laying around..

yard's dont inventory those sort of small parts, so they won't be on the website they're linking you to. Best bet is to hit up junkyards and pull the parts your self. Or even find a junkyard near you through car-parts.com and call 'em up to buy the parts you're after that they don't like. Won't know til you ask...

FYI: www.car-part.com probably won't list something that old. You're gonna have alot better luck finding a u-pull-it type yard. Usually those have the older vehicles and the closed yards(on car-part.com) will have newer vehicles.

Google "junkyard dog". That's a junkyard search engine that lists junkyards within a certain distance of your place and/or by region.

Autoandparts.com, or google what you're looking for.
