Ford F series trucks continue to strongly outsell all competitors
Sales continue headed in the positive direction for the pickup truck segment, with Ford still strongly dominating the sales wars. [Note that small trucks like Chevy Colorado are doing very well in the space once shared with Ranger. Clearly, light trucks are in demand.]
It's worth noting that after the first six months of the year, it looks like the average sales increase over 2011 numbers will be somewhere under 15 percent. And for one of the few times in the past 12 months, the GM full-size trucks are struggling to beat their 2011 monthly sales. Some outlets are questioning the risk GM is making in choosing to stockpile the current-gen full-size trucks in preparation of taking each of the three half-ton truck plants off-line as they make the needed changes to accommodate the next-gen 2014 Chevy Silverado. To date, the number of GM trucks in the supply pipeline is as high as we've seen in a long time.
As expected, the midsize Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier and Chevy Colorado are doing very well, as the remaining Ford Rangers and Dodge Dakotas work themselves out of the system.

I go to church with the owner of a chain of car dealerships and he told me why gm makes two brands of trucks:
They make GMC truck so they can open dealerships in rural farm towns and stock almost exclusively trucks. Apparently it saves them money.
I know this is random, but someone here has asked it before.

Re: Ford F series trucks continue to strongly outsell all competitors
I'm glad the F-150 is still in the lead, and the ranger is ahead of the frontier even though production ended

my brother's ram consistently does 4 MPG better then my Ranger does and he has a heavier foot an hauls a lot. So the Ram is excellent on fuel
I prefer the ram over any of the other trucks on that list

I will never own a Dodge truck, I like to think I won't have to replace my transmission before my fuel filter.
