well i worked at Pennzoil for 19 years so I'm a little bi-est but i i would pick a brand and weight and stick with it . someone may suggest a synthetic oil for the mileage I'm not sure what ford would recommend but I've been using Pennzoil 5-w30 for years

from someone that worked in a refinery, they have such standards that must be kept that it's really a matter of choice. believe it or not for years there was no real difference between wolf's head and Pennzoil.lol

my four banger ran only quaker state or motorcraft oil. I started out with 5W30 and then they told me to use 5W20 instead so i used that.. I would call the dealer and ask them what the recommended oill for the truck is ( with the mileage) and use that

i run 5w-30 in my 3.0s, valvoline high mileage (its a synthetic blend), change it every 3,000 miles religiously, i've used either a fram, mobile 1, or napa gold filter on my trucks, never had an oil leak, one time my dad watched me draining the oil out of my truck and told me to save it and put it in his car (no i didn't actually do it) i recently popped a valve cover off my old 3.0 to look at the rockers and was surprised how clean it was, no sludge or buildup at all, i'll take a pic if you want

i have always used royal purple and a motorcraft oil filter i run 10w30 in the summer and 5w30 in the winter granted its a bit pricey but i like the stuff and i know its good and works great i can tell the trucks runs better granted i know for a fact i got no increase in power but maybe like 1mpg better than what was in the truck i have a 2007 3.slow with an automatic trans with about 57,000miles and i also ran it in my 1990 model toyota 3.slow and it worked amazing in my yota i also ran it in my front and rear diff in my yota and could feel that the truck got moving easier and it ran alot better motor wise with it

a heaiver weight is good in the summer cause its already hot outside and wont lose much visitoy a lighter weight in the winter cause when its cold oil turns to like a gel and it takes longer to get it to normal operating temp

i run 5w20 year round, well theres not much temperature change here lol. i usually use mobil 1 full synthetic with those yellow filters, forget which type they are. i change it 3,000-4,500 miles depending on when i'm back home.
