Default Are These Fog Bulbs Any Good?

I'm wanting to upgrade my lights & found these on ebay. I am just wondering if they're worth the $6.45. It says plug and play, but will they burn too hot and melt my lenses?

They'll look great when looking at the vehicle. But looking from, is where they'll suck. You're wanting them in the fogs....and they work fine as fog lights....err....headlights mounted low. lol. I went through 5 different combos of halogens before FINALLY making the jump to HID. This occured after a couple sets of light pigtails because they melted.

Bottom line: these 'ricer' type bulbs suck performance wise.

That is soo true!!
They look nice but when you need to actually see the road they suck!
Your best bet will be to go to Walmart and get some White head light bulbs for like 15 buxs.

That silver coating to prevent light from going the wrong direction is a flimsy, THIN coating that will start cracking because of the heat generated by the bulb.

Essentially, those are just regular bulbs coated with a blue tint... that makes the light output (measured in LUMENS) decreased compared to regular bulbs. The "K" number is not a measurement of light output, but a measurement of the color itself.

Skip over those and save up $40 for an HID kit for the fogs. The lower the K number, the more light output (LUMENS) there is. 3000K is ideal for fogs, but in the end, it's up to you.

DO NOT PUT THAT CRAP ON YOUR TRUCK

1. They're blue. Blue is worse for vision. It scatters. Thats why the sky is blue. All they do is make glare and less light output.

2. They will melt your wire harness.

3. They will melt the light housing.

4. They suck.

Well I put them in and took it for a short drive. They project about the same distance as my stock fog bulbs did but it does seem slightly brighter. I'll get some pics up soon.

I ran them for a while this morning and they seemed to be fine. I don't think they are as bad as everyone thinks.

If you want bright fog lights and don't want to go HID then get a set of 9005's and put in there.

It's amazing that you ask for opinions of the bulb, and even though everyone's told you NOT to get them 'cause they suck, you get them anyway...

lol

Trust us... they ARE as bad as everyone says. I know from experience. It takes more than just a couple hours to show their true quality.
