Earlier in this thread you will see I posted I was currently checking my MPG's and was getting 18. After a full tank and some new calculations I'm getting 12.5 MPG. WTF!!!

I call BS. even ford stickers the 2002 4.0 4x4 at 15/19 MPG.
My 2001 (same exact engine as yours) same size tires, and 4x4, gets around 14 MPG.

I have a 1999 Ranger 2.5 RWD and I get 19 mpg for city driving. I work in town so I travel pretty much 7 miles round trip each day to and from work. Not bad for City.

My best is just a hair over 25mpg. That's about 80% hwy. That was also with about 1/3 tank e85 and the rest gas. I was trying to get good mpg that tank, normally I average about 22-23mpg.

99 3.0l single cab 5 speed.

Lets not get into a pissin match and call in BS on gas mileage issues. If u believe/think u are getting what u say, so be it. Im not paying for the gas in your truck, so as long as your happy with your mileage, that's what counts.

I dunno if I buy 23 out of a 4.0 either, especially with 4.10 gears. What elevation do you drive at? I've noticed a big decrease since I got down to sealevel vs driving up on the plateau at 2-4000ft. If I'm easy with my foot I get 19-20, more like 15-16 on average though.

Filled her up this morning and averaged 23 for the last tank. Mostly highway driving between 60-65 mph.

Im at 900 ft i beleive above sea level. my MPG went up after i put the camper topper on from 21 to 23

2010 2.3l 32mpg. havent drove over 60mph though, ive been driving it easy.

The truck runs great! But, I haven't pulled more than 18 mpg since I put the pipe rack on and have never seen 20 since I had the truck, even on a 100 mile freeway run with the bed empty.... '99/3.0/automatic/long bed
I think that it's our California gasoline blend....

I have a 2011 4.0, auto transmission, automatic 5-speed, 4x4, 3.73, supercab, sport. I have a tonneau cover. Drove from Charleston WV to Cape Canveral FL. I got between 19-21 mpg between fill ups. Daily driving varies from 15-17.
