an explorer axle will require some welding to get the shock mounts and spring perches right for the ranger, i think any ranger 8.8 will bolt right up

i bought a level II axle a couple years ago for $150 i think, rare find, sold it to a friend for his truck

the bigger of the two axles that was available in rangers, i think all 4x4s have em, 2wds prob all have 7.5s but i dunno for sure, 8.8 and 7.5 represent the diameter of the ring gear in the axle
here's an example of an axle tag, look at the numbers in the lower left part of the tag, 4L10 88, its got 4.10 gears, limited slip and its an 8.8, this is the one i got from a level II at the junkyard, my 2wd says 373 75, 3.73 gears, 7.5 axle
