Default I have a '96 Ford Ranger , while driving it last night it died out! Does anyone...

...have a clue what to check out-? first besides the obvious???? PLEASE HELP! thnx Myke

Have you checked the obvious?

Have you checked for spark? have you checked fuel pressure?, is the battery dead.

You need to determine if its a fuel issue or electrical issue. If the battery is completly dead I would guess alternator as a starting point.
I would actually test things but Im guessing you dont know how and dont have the tools. That puts you into part swap mode.

Take alternator to parts store and they can test it for you.
