Default should i take my ford ranger to the sand dunes?

heh, i just got a crazy idea, i've been going to silver lake sand dunes a couple of seasons now, in jeeps, dune buggies and quads.
up until recently i was just "along for the ride" but i got myself a ford ranger 4 cyl 5 spd, 2wd, on regular street tires, i was wondering if it was even feasable to take my lil mean machine out with us to the dunes, or would i probably end up leaving it in the staging area?

not sure on the sand dunes... but on beach sand a 2wd car is normally just stuck there waiting for the tide to raise and finish burring the car.... i wouldn't recommend it

4cyl + street tires = death in sand

A good set of tires with low air pressure can get you a long way, add a locker (or at least limited slip) and you can do pretty good.
