Default Just did my ford ranger brakes and can't stop suddenly now. Any ideas?

Just did my disc brakes on 99 Ford Ranger and when I tested it just now the brakes stop the truck steadily it's just that I can't stop suddenly, as if the pressure wasn't there to let it. After ten minutes of testing I checked and fluid was good...however the rotor felt a little oily when I touched it..Could there be grease on the pads? I checked the rotors before and cleaned them so I know it's not from them. Any help would be great!

Did you make sure you bleed the lines before you put the cap on? Air in the lines will decrease the braking performance even if you just did the brakes.

There is a good chance that you let air in the system. you need to bleed them first. you can find all kinds of links on web on how to do that. if the rotors are shiny then grease most likely is not the problem but don't rule that out.

you bleed the brake after doing brakes after you did them did you pump up the pedal to get brakes to work ok type in how to replace brake pads and then see if you follow them steps then type in how to bleed brakes and follow them steps not any harder really my wife does her own brake at home maybe you miss a step along the way

You have to be careful when bleeding brakes, loosening the bleed nipple too much even a little too much and you can let air back into the system.

Use a good brake cleaner to clean pads and hit it a couple times with a medium file.

When we drive the car the temperature of the disc is so high that the grease will evaporate after an approximate time of 10 minutes or 5 Km drive. you might need the brakes bleeding ......there could be a air bubble in the master cylender bleeding will help you out.
