Rough idle on 2005 3.0L v6 2wd auto trans
My 2005 was running terribly rough and I was getting increasingly poor fuel economy (< 18mpg) so I:
- changed plugs and wires (motorcraft plugs/omni spark wires)
- changed the oil/filter
- changed air filter (NOT K&N)
- cleaned MAF sensor (w/ MAF cleaner)
- cleaned throttle plate (w/ throttle cleaner)
- cleaned IAC valve (w/ throttle cleaner and blew out w/ air compressor)
- removed PCM fuse and disconnected battery to reset PCM
- replaced fuel filter (today actually)
It runs about a million times better and I now get better than 22mpg. However, the idle is still not as smooth as I would like it to be. I got this truck in june with 122,000 miles on it and I have just shy of 140,000. I have read that these trucks "just idle a little bit rough" but maybe there's something I'm missing?
Thanks in advance.
