Default Grrr!

Ok so I've been sick and haven't driven my ranger in about 8 days. A couple days ago my dad took it for a drive and thought the engine sounded rough, so he threw a little mystery oil in the gas. Yesterday I drove it to work and the engine sounded quiet, but my truck would NOT want to go in any gear until it fully warmed up! It started to grind if I wasn't going the right speed. Today my shifter stick seems to be normal, but my clutch feels a little weird. It seems softer and my truck seems sluggish. Any ideas? PLEASE tell me my clutch isn't going

You would definatley know if the clutch was slipping. if you got on the gas with it in gear and the engine revved but the truck didn't speed up then it is slipping. Sounds more like the clutch master cylinder or slave clyinder going bad. Either a line has a leak, Fluid is bypassing the plunger and piston assembly in the master cylinder or the slave cylinder is leaking or sucking in air. No idea on the sluggish part besides the mystery oil could be too much for it.

Yeah I guess so. Well my first step is probably checking the clutch fluid level lol. I heard it's a bitch getting to the slave cylinder. I should probably have my mechanic drive it and see what he thinks

Probably a good idea lol. I love manuals but sometimes they are just a pain in the ass.

I had just about the same problem w/ my shifter. Turns out the fluid reservoir was empty and the system had air in it. I just added fluid and it's fine now. No leaks either.

yeah I know right. He didn't tell me until after he did it. Now my truck seems to have lost the little amount of nut it never had lol.
