They're manifold vacuum ports. Why would you want to remove it?

I need to remove my intake manifold for possible replacement or polish and gasket replacement, it's a 11/16" in the center and below and threaded but it won't budge.

Lots of WD-40 or maybe heat it with a torch.

you can't get a socket over the brake booster tube?

i say wd40 or pb blast the basterd! and then torch it!

My brake booster hose fits over the center.
Get a can "PB Blaster" and hose it down and let it set for few hours and it should come off, if not use a little heat from a propane torch and hose it down again ,that should it. WD 40 won't help,
You should be able take the manifold off anyway and work on it .

good Luck

The problem is that i cannot remove it without removing the that. I'll try the blaster as i do not have the torch.

its just a vacuum tree
it distributes vacuum from the intake to the necessary components

soak it in PB blaster for a day and possibly use a small propane torch

wd-40 is just a water displacement lubricant NOT a penetrant like PB, it won't work near as well if at all

the intake should be able to come off without having to remove it. i would be a lil careful about heating it up to try to get it off. the intake is aluminium. it could hurt the intake by doin that.

Looking at the pic, you should be able to pull the intake without removing it. Why do more work than you need to?

i had a 94 2.3 and the intake came off no prob. its the same with any other motor. either you miss a bolt or something cause that should not have to come off. most of the time those are a press-in not bolt in. have you gotten a repair manual to see if it says anything in there about it????
