Ford ranger 3.0 powerstroke diesel
I am moving to brazil part of the year, have been researching all the midsize 4 door cab pick ups with 4 cylinder turbo diesel engines. So far my research found the toyota hilux blows out the injectors every 30,000 costing $5,000+ to fix, the Mitzbushi L-200 blows head gaskets and cracks heads, the Chevy S-10 I could not find any info on, the Nissan Frontier also has head cracking and head gasket problems, The only one I found with no major problems is the Ford Ranger 3.0 Litre Powerstroke diesel and I am planning on buying one. A friend in brazil has a 2005 ranger 3.0 diesel with 400,000 KM never had any mechanical problems and truck gets 30- 35 mpg
Does anyone on this Forum know of any problems I should look out for on the Diesel rangers? I am looking at a 2010 - 2011 Ranger Limited or XLT 4 door cab with 5 foot bed 3.0 litre powerstroke diesel new is 87,000 reals which is around $45,000, used low miles sell around 55,000 - 65,000 reals which is around $35,000.

Its not a Powerstroke, its a PUMA diesel.

The PUMA diesel is in the new 2012 model, the prior version ranger 2012 and older have a 3.0 litre powerstroke, from what I have found reseraching the truck.

Cool...I'd like to have a "Diesel"...but our Government won't allow such an animal here....

It has the same cab design of the U.S. Rangers. I like that. I've seen some that have weird looking cabs along with the weird front ends.

It aint a Powerstroke. But you are right, its not a Puma in the previous years, its a Duratorq.

Just bought a 2012 Ford Ranger XLT 4 door cab with 3.0 litre which is a powerstroke, has a decal on the rear gate "3.0 Litre Powerstroke". If I can figure out how to upload photos i will over the weekend

8 years later and still no photos.
And yes everybody, it seems I am bumping old threads, what else we going to do with this all this free time that we have,. Plus it doesn't hurt on this site, which has about three visitors a week lately, the same three people.
