you can go whereever the ground is hardpacked and not to full of ruts and stuff. a stock 2wd can get around, but you have to know how to drive it and where to go. just remember, the trouble you get yourself into, you cant really get out with only 2wd, you'll need someone to pull you out or a winch

^ I agree.

You can run your front wheels through anything you want, but get your drive wheels stuck, and you're done.

It's just a combination of knowing what your truck can do, and being sensible with how you drive.

Yeah...just what everyone said. I mean when I go out and play, I'm in 2wd until I simply cant be anymore. lol. Alot is momentum....the style of driving that keeps ya goin'. You can go LOTS of places with a lift, tires, and a locker(or a limited slip in the least). I can't emphasyse just how important tires are. Tires Tires Tires.

I don't use the 4wd in my Ranger til I'm done moving either, just like Shane. Get a locker or a limited slip and you will never have an issue really. Another thing like Shane said tires, tires, and tires. I bought a new set for my truck and this year in the snow they have made a hell of a difference, as well as in the mud.

i'm running goodyear wrangler radials and i will say I'd never buy another set for use in the snow. a push mower would go better in the snow than my truck does, these tires absolutely suck.. and these tires are only 2 months old.

i've heard very bad things of goodyear wranglers, except for the silentarmor m/ts that are quite pricey.

tires, skinny pedal and know how is all you need. i have a stock 2wd with general grabber at2's(red headed step child to bfg) i can get through some pretty messy stuff and be just fine. just remember skinny pedal is your friend...
