Default Difference between -89 and -92 ranger.

Hi.

Im new to this forum and also new to Ford Ranger. Im thinking to buy one this upcoming weekend.

The two alternatives i have is one 1989 V6 and one 1992 V6. (petrol)

I dont know much about the difference between those two cars other than that the 1992 seems to have more horsepowers according to the registration.

Can someone help me to clear this out? Right now im more in to the 89, mostly because of the price.

All tips and tricks of what i should look out for and so on is ofcourse very welcome!

This seems to be a great forum ill be hangin here alot.

Regards. John

Aha thats too bad. But i thought that all american cars from this time period where import, more or less.

What differs between the US-models then?

John

Ofcourse. I meant that all american cars in Sweden where imported from USA. Not the other way.

Well . . . they're built here and the body styles are different from international ones, but we still import a good bit of parts to put them together.

But to John's question . . . I have a 92 Ford Ranger, but if I put it up against a 92 Ranger from Europe it's probably different in many ways. Mine is 4.0 liter with 4x4.

Here' maybe this will help. I'm guessing that Ford probably took the Mazda series in Europe and slapped a Ford bumper sticker on it.

Yes i guess it is. For one example we have an order for automatic headlight here in sweden, so the truck im looking at has automatic light when the ignition is on.

I´ve done som research on the internet and it seems as though the ´89 Ranger has a 2.9l V6 and 4x4 (140bhp) and the ´92 has a 4.0l V6 with 140 bhp.

I think i´ll be going for the ´89, he demands aproximately 1800 Euros for it, will post a picture after the weekend if the deal locks.

For us here in America 1800 Euros is about $3500.

Here comes a pic at my bran new (old) Ford Ranger. It´s a ´89 with alot of extra headlight and the right look. I´m very satisfied, paid 17000 SEK, aprox 2400 USD.

Now: out in the wild with the 4x4 and low range ON!

Okay I was curious to see how similar looking the two vehicle were. The top is the 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac And the bottom is Ford's Ranger model in Europe. Decide for youself.
