Default 1984 Ford Ranger Problem?

a 1984 ford ranger with a 2.8l v6. it runs great, but then all of a sudden the rpms drop and it dies. any suggestions to the problem?

your idle switch is set to low. and when you slow down it idles so low it just kills it, your local mmechanic can fix it quick

timing or maybe your spark plugs are gaped wrong just a idea

If the truck starts again after a few minutes, it's probably a clogged gas filter, which would be very easy and cheap to replace.
