FX4 Level... Question
I am a new owner of a 2003 Ranger.. I love it , its my new pride and joy. I did have a question for someone to answer. I see on some posts that people say FX4 Level II. Is there any other levels of FX4's or is it if you have an FX4 its a Level II? I guess im asking what makes it a level II? My ranger is an FX4, 4.0, 4x4 package

I also have a 2003 FX4 off road and love it. FX4 II also have two tone seats with blue being the second color.

You ether have an FX4 or an FX4 Level II. I think 2003 is when they started that. In 2002 the FX4 was the same as a Level II. The two tone paint jobs didn't start until 2006. Level II's also came with Alcoa wheels. Alcoas came in DSG, Polished and Chrome.

Fx4 '02 Fx4 or '03+ Fx4 Level II is one step beyond with special black interior, special upholstery on the standard buckets, all have 4.10 gearing, have a stronger rear axle basically out of a F150, if '02-03 equpped with manual trans, you got a manual transfer case. Special towhooks, black exterior plastics(instead of grey), special wheels with 31x10.50R15 BFG All Terrains. Standard with 4dr xcab, 4.10, limited slip, bilstein shocks, buckets, power options, leather w/ tilt wheel, cruise, etc....basically, Fx4 Level II got all the options as standard

OK its wierd, I Know for a fact it has "off road package" the bigger wheels, idk about the alcoa's but their 16". My interior is black and gray, bucket seats. and i have the leather/tilt steering wheel. it is a 2003. soo hmm.. like half the stuff you guys said is in it, and a few of the things you said arn't. Like i don't have the two tone pait job or emblems. but other than that everything else you guys said was in there. it also does have the grey fenders.

The Alcoas are 15". And an '03 wouldn't be 2-tone either way.

Also, it wasn't until 2006 that the Level II's had an actual "emblem". In '06 they started putting "Level II" on the two-tone part of the door. For all prior years, the the only place it said Level II was on the decal on the side of the box. Same decal as the FX4, but with Level II in a smaller font below it.

i don't think anyone has mentioned that level IIs came with bilstein shocks also, not all level IIs were leather either, some had two tone cloth buckets, i have seen em with red inserts and also blue inserts, the rear axle in heavier duty version of the 8.8, its 31 spline with a torsen limited slip, the axle is similar to that of a 95-01 explorer

so, here's my thing now.... I have 02 FX4, had the alcoa's. all black interior, 2 tone seats, bilstein shocks, etc. but there was no Level II sticker on bed, and there was no sign of it being there either (judging by how scratched up the bed was, the previous owner did pay to have some one buff it off...) so did all of them come withe the sticker? I just had very mixed opinions locally about it that's why I pose the question. Is there a sepcial code in the VIN or something like that?

My buddy bens truck was a 2002 FX4 Level II and it did not have a level II sticker other than the FX4 Off Road (picture below)
If you have the black interior you have the Level II no other ranger comes with black interior
