are they still called level II or are they just called the FX4 now? haven't got a close look at a new one yet

those are the seats I have! they looked really weird when I first bought the truck... now I kinda like them. I wish they "hugged" you a little more, but I can't complain...

Hmm ya I have 2 tone bucket seats but their black and grey. My dash is like a dark gray from what i can remember.. my dor panels are gray and black. not like solid black

The guy i bought it from also said i had the skid plates underneth and its like the total offroad package.. hmm.. it would be nice to know for sure if its a level II or not.. Like origioal sticker price on the origionl sheet said 25,xxx something like that.. i was reading online thats what the level II's were about. And what they said they all had in there thats what mine sounds like

Ya that interior pic is what mine looks like but i don't think its solid black like the pic. mines got some dark grey too in cirtin spots. i do have the two tone seats but its not the stone look. and the outside of that one truck that STL posted is exactly the same as mine except for those sweet rims. i have the rims on the 2003 level II above it in the pic in the snow.

Ok, I want to add a question here since we are on the topic. I have an 02 XLT 4x4 Off Road ext cab with a 4.0 and auto. What can you all tell me about this package? Pics in my album if necessary.

FX4's come with skid plates also

My edge had the grey and black seats that was the normal color for the trucks aside from the ones that come with tan interior

Those rims are what come on the regular fx4 and what came on the 4wd edge. I gor them on my edge when I bought it by a factory mess up




It is just a 4X4 XLT probably with the "bright trim group" chrome bumpers and chrome running boards if you have running boards

I dont think yours is. i think yours is just an FX4. they did come with bilstein shocks i think. If im not mistaken, the only difference in the FX4 package is the fact that they got L/S and bilsteins. The Level II adds on to this with special Alcoa Wheels, Black Interior, Leather or color inserted seats, stainless front tow hooks, and the L/S diff is upgraded to a Torsen L/S.

if yours was a Level II, it would have looked exactly like this with either the polished or gunmetal (DSG) Alcoa Wheels

Feel free to use my (stock) pic (from when I first bought the truck, used) if you need an example of a 2001 XLT in your Ranger Model Guidelines sticky topic. Although I was/am the third owner, the truck came with the original window sticker, owner's manual, introductory CD-ROM, as well as the "used car" sticker that was on it when the 2nd owner purchased it. The maintenance logs were also completely filled out by both previous owners!!

For those confused over which truck they have -- keep in mind that the original owner (or dealership) could have ordered an FX4 with a couple upgrades, but not the complete Level II package, which could explain why you seem to have some Lvl II stuff, but not all of it. When the insurance company runs my VIN, it identifies my truck as a "Ranger Edge", but it is clearly a 2WD "Ranger XLT", per the window sticker, with leather steering wheel, all power, upgraded stereo system, and upgraded suspension.
