Really confused as everyone else is. Your tuck isnt dying over rocker panels. You blow ur tranny or your motor then your truck is dying... actually its dead.

I wouldnt recommend the Tundra, they have proven to be less proven as a fullsize pickup then the big three. To me it goes (all 2012) RAM Hemi-F150-Titan-Tundra-Silverado/Sierra. but its all personal preference. I would just keep the truck longer (the fact that you have travel more with rust doesnt mean you will be stuck to the side of the road). Just save your money until you have a $6K-$10K downpayment on a Fullsize truck.

Bed line the rockers. Done. I dont understand how bad rocker panels make the truck un-reliable...

I support the gentleman, if he wants a new truck im not going to stop him. It sucks it wont be another ranger since we all are Ranger nuts but.....face it im gonna most likely hold onto my baby as long as i can and take good care of her. Some day i will buy a second or third vehicle but there will be a time when i will have to turn the keys over. Its his time, the ranger isnt his pride and joy as much as it was. Hold onto her a little more, save up your money and treat yourself to something you really want and like. Thats what i would do.

Any good metal worker should be able to make you some rocker panels. Did you check JC Ripme (Whitney).

ok 1. Found a solution to this whole problem, i'm doing the work myself. 2. No one out of the 10 shops I called and some people i know that do body work will do this job. 3. Rotten rocker panels equals a rotten floor board and no place to put your feet after awhile. 4 Im keeping the truck fixing it (myself) and saving to get a new truck. So ill have 2 vehicles a new F150 and a badass soon to be rescued Ranger. Happy everyone? Because I know I am. Maybe the thread should have been called "My Ranger is being eaten"? Im known for clean awesome looking vehicles. Its hard for me to grab onto the thought that 1 vehicle I have owned has a flaw.

Hmm condition on my engine and tranny lets see spotless and shiny since I cleaned it, but didnt look bad at all when I bought it and it runs like a champ. The mileage I just hit 60k a few days ago. So the underbody really I don't see how this truck has an underbody like it does. Looks like the frame and everything else is 100 years old with 500k miles on it. Well most of it anyways. Fuk it im keeping the damn thing.

Thats an easy problem to fix by box liner spray cans and use it underneith the truck reason why your truck looks like its is 100 yrs old under there is because of road salt

Your truck only has 60k and your rocker panels and floorboards are rusting out???
I have 180k on the body of my truck, new engine with 50k on it now, and rebuilt transmission has just about 8k, and my rocker labels and floorboards are fine, and yeah I live in Minnesota and deal with tons of salt too.

Sounds crazy at only 60k u have such issues.

Because the previous owner was a worthless owner and didnt wash or try and prevent any of this. If it was my truck when it was new, it would still look new. So on that note end of conversation. Just because one persons vehicle has less wear on the engine, but is rusted doesnt mean the others with 200k miles on it will be worse or better. All in the care taken towards the vehicle.

Why wouldn't you just get new rocker panels. Just get some from the jy and cut and weld. Waste to sell it for that reason
