Re: What kind of tools/setups do ya'll have?
I can't afford air tools, so everything I have is either hand tools or electrically driven. I use air tools at work and they are great, just not in my budget. As far as brand, as long as they have a lifetime warranty on them, I don't care. I do try to stick with name brands as much as I can though. Obviously, the electrical tools don't have a lifetime warranty.

Re: What kind of tools/setups do ya'll have?
You buy a 30 gal., once you start usin it alot, you'll be upgradin to a 60. I started with a 30, lasted year or so, then went to a 60, that lasted couple years, then I went to an 80, that lasted til it was 3mos outta warranty & the motor went to shit. I will NEVER own another CH POS compressor, ok tools, but no compressors. Anyways, I bought a Kobalt (Sanborn) 80 gal. & hookem together, so now I have 160 gals of air @ 175psi, and when I'm grindin or usin the zizwheel, I still haveta stop & let it catch up sometimes.
Decision is yours as to what you start with, but IMO, might as well buy at good 80gal. & not haveta worry bout upgradin later.
I used to swear by Craftsman for hand tools, but its a PITA to get anythin replaced IMMEDIATELY round here, and waitin for em to mail/ship it to me don't cut it. So I've begun usin Husky (Home Depot), Kobalt (Lowes- heard that Kobalt was an off-shoot of Snap-On or Matco), Stanley (Walmart), ALL of which have "lifetime guarantee".
As far as jacks, stands, cherry pickers, etc, personal preference I guess......I buy mine at Harbor Freight for cheap, then if I haveta replace em, it don't hurt so bad.

husky tools have a lifttime guarantee?? damn, i've got some tools i've gotta bring in, lol. just an FYI, husky phillips head screw drivers suck ass though.
my tools, i've got mostly husky's that were my first sets, and they've been very good to me. just recently i upgraded to a craftsman socket set ( 100+ piece mechanic's set was on sale for $40 ) and screwdriver set. i've got a husky plier set that's very good, and husky wrenches, both SAE and metric, that i've got no complaints about.
big stuff, mostly harbor fraight. my jack is one of the old orange one's that's roughly 25 years old and still works like new, and i just got a really nice service cart from harbor freight to store all my tools in, that i would highly reccomend (i love that box).
as far as compressors go, i've got an upright craftsman (apx.35 gal.) that's been ok, but definitly not what i expected. takes a long time to fill the tank up and seems to run out quick. my old compressor was a 35 year old old dayton (apx. 40 gallon) and that thing is fantastic, but unfortinitly the compressor itself is on it's way out, which is why i got the craftsman.

Re: What kind of tools/setups do ya'll have?
For air tools I like IR. I would at least get a 60 gal compressor IMO, I believe mine might even be an 80? As others have said as far as jack stands, cherry pickers, etc., Harbor Freight. For hand tools I like Craftsman myself

Sears stuff isn't what it used to be. My craftsman floor jack is going and it's only about six years old. :-/

Re: What kind of tools/setups do ya'll have?
I have all harbor frieght tools and not a single one has failed me, including several sets of hand tools, a shop vac, a generator, jack stands, a floor jack, a 30 gallon compressor and several air tools.
Either I've been very lucky, or harbor frieght's quality has improved, I have been very happy with all of my purchases.
