yup it gets cold up here. it can hit -55F like you said but that doesnt even factor windchill factor.

I haven't used the one on my '98, so I can't say for it but for my CR-V, the gauge never even moves. About a quarter mile down the road though, and the temp gauge is moving. The engine is warm in no time!

Without the block heater, I'm three miles down the road before the gauge starts to move. That make a BIG difference at 5:30 in the morning when I don't want to be up anyway.

Oh ya chills don't even describe it lol I was so bundled up I could barely get in my truck and the worst part is I had to work outside
