Default Did Hoses last night....holy Hell!

I’m 47 years old and have changed plenty of radiator hoses in my life. Usually swapping the big hoses is an easy no-brainer job and you feel good after the job is done. Then I bought a 2002 Ranger Edge with 80,000 miles with the original Ford hoses still in place. Off to the parts store I go and I begin the whole flush / fill and hose swap surgery. The upper was no big deal. The lower was designed and located by Satan himself. I’d never seen a large radiator hose with a “T” fitting and a smaller 5/8 hose that attaches to a sending unit housing (I guess) where pushing the hose on and tightening the clamp requires patience, plenty of time and flexible arms and fingers. The job is complete and you’re laughing at me for taking HOURS to swap these hoses aren’t you? I deserve it but I had to rant. My fingers are sore, my arms are sliced and cut, but my Ranger is sporting new big hoses, finally. I’m finding that the previous owner did ZERO maintenance or he had a Ford dealership replace everything with Motorcraft parts. It was an interesting night, Swapping the upper and lower on my ’93 Mustang takes maybe 15 minutes if that long…well the adventure continues with my new Ranger…..rant over.

my hoses were easy as pie to remove and eventually put back on when I did my motor swap.

What my headache was were the damn feed and returns for the heater core at the intake...them things were on GOOD!!

Damn it! My new lower hose from Advance Auto has begun to leak at the "T" fitting

I guess this is why the Advance Auto hose is $26 and the Ford hose is $56....
