RIP Ranger
It seems that in Ford's own words, No one really wants a Ranger in the U.S. could be coming back to haunt them. At the Detroit auto show, pre show for celebrities and mucky mucks, the press lit every Ford exec up for dumping the Ranger in the U.S. and bragging about how excited they are with the NEW Ranger that every other country is getting. I've read more than a few threads from people that say that the T/C---transit connect is what former Ranger owners prefer. So, can anyone show me how many T/C's have been sold in conjunction to 2011 Ranger sales? I got a feeling that someone is trying to pull the wool over someone's eyes.

Bump, because you guys really didn't need to reply if you hate these threads so much. It's obvious you took interest in the thread because within a few milliseconds, your mind transmitted a signal to your brain to open this thread. I can't stand threads about HID lighting, so guess what I never open? You guys should do the same. Ignore these threads, and you won't even know they're here.

Re: RIP Ranger
the ranger sold more units than the mustang in 2011, i see way more mustangs on the road than i do transit connects. that should give you an idea of how dumb the ford execs are.

This.
Sure, the subject of the demise of the Ranger has been discussed to death, but, so have numerous other subjects like the HID lighting that was used as an example been discussed to death.
Don't like it, don't open it and read it. Let alone post in the thread.
You clearly cared enough to do that much.

Re: RIP Ranger
Yep. All those people who don't work for Ford and have no clue what they are talking about obviously know better than Ford's marketing and business development team. Ford has a hundred years of customer data and research to make their decisions on the future of their company. But obviously some random self-important people know more.

I get 2............Who Cares? Its a truck......
As for this thread, bring it on. The OP brought a different view of the subject that I didnt know and that some may find interesting. The following 2 or so comments is why I have issues with forums. Dont like it dont look at it.
As for the subject at hand, I am not sure where the thought that folks like us would want the TC more than the ranger. They are nothing alike. The TC has its place, just not in my driveway. There is still tell of the F100 coming to the states but nothing is being said of it, other than it is coming. I dont know what data the Ford people have to support dumping the ranger in the states. However, they are still pushing the F150 and super duty's. I do still see a bunch of the Rangers out there, but I see more new full size trucks than new rangers.

I also read that ford said that "they just arent in the truck business anymore." And that if someone wants a truck they are wanting to them to buy a f150. They figure they well buy a f150 or a car.
