Default new to the ranger game, questions

howdy, about to purchase a 98 reg. cab short bed 5 speed 4 banger. going for the cheap prerunner look. Either I'm going to use a small spacer and bastard pack the rear, or actually find a decent 2" AAL kit with new coils, and get new shocks eventually. I wan to run a 15x7or8" wheel (prolly get some soft 8's) with a decent amount of backspacing, anyone know my lug spacing? is it 5x5.5"? and up to a 31x11.5" AT tire that's good in the snow. Any help would be cool

Your bolt pattern is 5x4.5".

I don't know anyone who's not happy with the BFG AT's.

best tire is up for debate. I've never been terribly impressed with them for how much they are. that being said I like that they are decent in the snow. I'm primarily a mastercraft courser (cooper tire) guy cause i get them cheap.

So i have a deal on another one, an older Ranger. Someone please help me with some info on this thing:
it's a:
'86
4x4
5speed
100K
long bed/regcab

I'd like a 1.5-2" lift for it. I can prolly so something myself, but want to know whats out there.

Whats it got for axles?

is my bolt pattern 5x4.5"?

whats its got for gears?

whats the transfercase?

what is the tranny?

It's a v6, so I think it's the 2.9liter, EFI.

thanks for any help, this things is in mint condition except for faded paint.

Searching not only gives you the answers, it also conveys a sense of warm, tingling, self gratification. Kinda like sex.
