I love ho we are the only ones concerned with the "green" movement. How about china? they could give 2 shits. How about all the other countries in the world? what may come out of the US green movement would be absolute worthlessness as a whole compared to the earth. liberials.....

if they did make this a law the only way they would know how far you have gone between changes is if you took it in somewhere. It would not be a very effective law if everyone changed their own oil.

guys...it's not a LAW, just a campaign to balance the BS the oil companies put out about having to change your oil every 3000 miles

and while I agree there is no longer any good reason to change your oil at 3000 miles, it's pretty sad that California can find money for stuff like this but Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown wants us to vote for MORE taxes or he'll close the schools 3 days a week...

Manual states eveery 7500 on my ranger. I will do the first on in another few hundred miles at 4000. Then probably at 10000. Then when I get to it. I dont drive my truck that often as I drive a company rig to and from work. so It could be that I would only change my oil every 2 years if I followed the manual. That wont be happening.

Amen, and if not what are they gonna do? Install some sort of electronic eavesdropping watchdog in the car that communicates via satellite to shut it down at certain mileage? When they pay for the auto I drive, then they can tell me what to do with it.

Ha lmao at these laws. I always change my oil and filter at 3k. My dad never changes his oil in his work truck. He probably has like 30k on his truck and the oil has NEVER been changed!

I would never use even synthetic more than 6 months, no matter what the mileage.

The US has done more in the past 40 years to curb emissions of all kinds, (land, water, air) than any other country in the world.
But we are still villified by the rest of the world and made out to be the bad guys.

Screw 'em!
I think I'll fire up my 455 Buick and let it needlessly idle in the driveway.

I figure my driving is really hard on the vehicle, 1200 to 1500 miles sometimes in a year with almost daily driving during the winter months. So the oil gets changed after 6 to 8 months. I do take a couple of motorcycle trips each year and change the oil before and after each trip which can be 6000 to 9000 miles. I count highway miles as easy miles.
