Default Show me your gun racks

I have a 4 door extended cab 11'. I'm looking for a way to mount my rifle(s) standing up muzzle down on the back wall of the cab. Maybe use something like this:

You'd have one of these mounted on the back wall of the cab above the cupholder on the jack cover and you'd set your muzzle in the cupholder, then secure your stock in the mount above it.

Anybody have any ideas or already using something different that works?

That's what I used to do with my Ram quad cab, but my Ranger has a 60/40 split seat with the split on the wrong side....

hmm they make window racks that are easily installed

and i know that if you make a mount and if you have an ext cab you can put it under the seat right at the door so a similar mount but placed under the seat of that makes sense....

I always toyed with the idea of taking one of those cheap window mount ones and screwing it directly to the back wall of the cab. However since I do not hunt (would like to...NC guys if you are going next year don't forget about me!) so I don't have a need to carry a long gun in the truck.

What kind of rifle are you thinking about? Barrel and overall length may play a factor.

I had thought about the same thing because I don't like advertising with my guns in the back window. I haul everything from a shotgun to AR15's. The AR is with me the majority of the time when we're tooling around my buddy's land. It's a 16" barrel right now but I've been waiting for 5 months for ATF to approve and return my stamp for a shorty AR.

I bought one for my back window in my regular cab, but its made to go in the weather stripping and my windows weird and a complete square at the bottom with no seam for it to secure itself in. :/

Maybe I should just buy a tool box to put all my crap in and then I can just put the guns on the floor in the back...

ive thought about attaching a gun rack to the lid of the toolbox, only for transportation purposes when i dont have room in the cab, would be pretty easy

I assume you meant attaching a rack on the UNDERside of the lid, not the top. And no offense, but I don't live in Kalifornia. It's not illegal for me to keep a rifle in the cab of my truck as long as it's unloaded.

the people i dog hunt with have koplin gun box things that are made to mount on to atvs (if any of you dog hunt) thay attached them to the back of the dog box and transport them that way and put them there when they get in the truck to move to another spot i personally just shove them between the seat and the console but my ranger 60/40 bench seat is not so good for this... i have also seen gunracks for UTVs where the butt sits on the floor and a bracket that screws into the dash area that secures the gun up top i was thinkin about somethin like that on mine
