Default 1997 ford ranger heat question?

would a vacuum line that is disconnected cause my truck to only blow out of the defrosters?

Yes, if the ducting doors are controlled by vacuum.

probably not most likely its in the controls on the cluster or the motors on the HVAC unit in your dash aren't responding to the controls
