Weighing down bed for winter driving.
Just wondering how many of you place weight such as sandbags etc. in the bed of your truck for winter driving and what/how much you put in it. I'm stationed in Milwaukee, WI and it will be my first winter here having a truck. Open to all suggestions! Thanks!

i put 3 60lb sand bags and keep a 200 lb tool boxin my truck...granted i have 4wd to save me if i need it which I rarely use it

I bought 4, 70 pound sand tubes at Menards for about $2.85 each...two on each axil. I did have two 50 pound scale weights in the back too but the truck went a little off level with 380 pounds back of the axil so I took out the two scale weights. I'm good!!!
BTW, it's my first year in winter too. Since the wife drives the truck a lot in winter, she doesn't like to slip and slide at all. So, even with the 4X4, I got weight.

4 60lb sand bags over the axle and a heavy ass tool box! good snow tires help to!!!

i have a 4x4 and put nothing in the back, if theres any weight its only the snow that fell in there, and i shovel that out every day. Havent had any problems.

Normally I dont put anything in the bed. Living where I live snow is not much of an issue, Ice can be but I havent had any problems in a number of years.

i have duratracs on my ranger and they rock in the snow...that and with my L/S rear i dont even have to use 4wd unless i have to go up a steep hill

I've got 400 pounds in the bed behind the cab and in front of the wheel wheels. I rarely need to use 4 wheel drive.

I have about 400lbs of slate in the back usually, also Blizzak tires. A good set of snows makes a huge difference.

You don't meed to add weight to the bed, just have fun with it.

i put about 3 70lbs. sand bags in in an "H" pattern over the axle. i put enough in just until it wants to squat a smidge, which isnt much haha.
if you put too much weight in the back tho it will pick up your front wheels which will make steering wishy washy, just something to consider.
