Re: how to make my truck level 2
from stock the LVL II is the most capable ranger. modified, any ranger could be better. but from stock the FX4 Level II wins. my opinion is that if youre gonna mod that much, mod to make it even better than a stock FX4.

That's only true for twin sticks. Which I agree, blow electronic 4x4 out of the water. BTW, the BORG WARNER you referred to is also the auto transfer case. They're both the 1354, one is manual and the other is electronic
With the exception of twin sticks, the L2 is overrated. You can easily build a more capable 4x4 using different parts.
Plus I've heard too many horror stories with the Torsen L/S anyway

Its done me pretty good..
I wish ford kept making the twin sticks. The setup it had looked SO FREAKI'N wicked. 2 years of production of the twins, and its probably the most wanted transmission setup for rangers. Ford could have made a huge profit if they still made the twins..

Nope, don't really care. It's just funny to see people post about how badass they are cause they own a Level 2.
I don't really hate Level 2, if one would have been for sale when I was in the market, I would have got one.
But I plan on rebuilding my truck next year anyway using full width axles.

yes u can build one better than a level II. but the level II is stock for the reason that its a trim. most people who bought the level II when it came out was to offroad it cuz it was more capable than a reg ranger. now when u start talking about building up a ranger ur talking about something diff. so dont say they are overrated just cuz its a stock truck.

Re: how to make my truck level 2
On my F150 I went from the Custom trim level all the way to the Ranger Lariat trim level, from a burnt yellow interior to a black interior, I've swapped from 4x2 to 4x4, and will be swapping to a 400 V8 from a 300 I6 in the near future.
Doing all of that has been an absolute pain in my ass, especially finding the Ranger Lariat parts.
It is totally not worth it unless you absolutely have to have your truck with that configuration. Take it from someone who has done the same thing you're thinking of doing.
