but usually when its under a load or i need it to go up a hill, i call it buddy

Well, here's my philosophy on naming. Names for other people to call your truck = winning.
For example: "have you seen that truck called ____?".

Names for you to call your own truck = pretty lame.
For example: "I'm gonna drive ____ to Wal-mart and get some cheese slices"
