Default Help! Ford Ranger TERRIBLE in snow.?

I have a Ford Ranger 2wd (the reason it is terrible in snow).
I put about 250lb of sand bags in the bed.
Today is the first time its snowed since I've had it (a week). About an Inch, not even, was on the ground and this truck was sliding. The wheels even spun a second before it would go in the little amount of snow.

any other suggestions? will I adjust to driving something that slides so much?

and should I add more weight?
NO one?????

Add another 250lbs. make sure the weight is as far back as posible, run with a full tank of gas too.

And get snow tires.

250 lbs. isn't enough weight, you're going want at least 600 lbs. In the bed, maybe more. Four snow tires would help immensely as well.
