How do you carry your fishing rods?
How do you guys that fish carry your fishing rods in your trucks? I don't like to have them rolling around in the bed, and I want to keep them secure.
My smaller rods fit if I put them diagonally from the passenger floor board and run them back behind the driver's seat, but it's a little awkward, and I can't do it if someone is in the cab with me. My longer rods don't fit in the cab at all unless I crack the rear window and stick them through.
Anyone have any good solutions or mods they've done to accommodate the longer rods?

I've not done this for fishing rods, but it works well for a handful of interchangeable ham radio antennas -- stop by Lowe's or Home Depot and pick up 6 or 7 feet of 3" or 4" diameter PVC pipe (exact size depends on the length and number of rods you need to store), a 3" or 4" (depending on pipe diameter) cap, and the same size drain access cap (a 2-piece deal, with a flange that is glued to the pipe and a screw-in stopper). Glue it all together with PVC cement, and maybe use some zip ties to secure it to the tie-downs inside your truck bed. If you want to get real fancy, lightly sand everything after you have it assembled and throw some paint on it.

That's what I'm currently doing with the longer ones. It works, but it's a pain when I get to work and have to unload them and carry them inside.

i just throw mine in the bed. if i really want to be careful, i take the reels off and store them in a box that my cast net came in.
but usually they sit in the rod holders on the boat seeing as i cant drive my ranger out to the reefs here

There's a pond just next to the parking lot that I fish sometimes during breaks at work to get the heck away. I also head over to concord park before work when the weather is good. Catch a few bass, then head into work. Makes the day much more bearable.

Unfortunately, the stepside doesn't have the stake holes. Found that out the hard way after I bought pop-up tie downs.
