Default Which 1st accessory should I get for my '99 Ranger

Let's say youjust bought a 1999 Ranger. (Like I did.) What would the first accessory be that you'd buy for it? And while your at it can you think of any good links you can lead me to get some cool Ranger accessories?

Good question ajmes942! Bumper to bumper here in the sacramento area and with the state hungry for fines i think cool looking goodies would be the best route to take right now.

judging by your avatar i'm guessing thats a 2wd with a 3.0 flexfuel? if so i have the same truck, honestly i liked my 4x4 way better and can't wait to get rid of this thing, but were i keeping it i would prob do a spindle lift with some blocks and shackles, 4.10s and a limited slip rear and some 31s, if i were in your area i would be more likely to bag it, seeing as you prob don't have to deal with the snow that i do here

things that i have found were beneficial on my little truck are an electric fan and underdrive pulleys, and a better radio, check out stuffforyourranger.com for underdrive pulleys, i got my fan from jegs.com, flex-a-lite black magic xtreme, throttle body spacers and cold air intakes don't really do much so i wouldn't waste money on them

might sound a little harsh but thats my two cents

There's a guy on TRS who just had his truck broken into by the "antenna trick".
These trucks are so easy to get into - and thieves know it.

Well... I would say tint but you're in Cali so not sure if you wanna bother...

Plan B would be a stepside bed 'cause then it'd look just like my 1st ranger...

Plan C would be a powerdome hood....

I can keep going if you want.... haha

This isn't an accessory, but I'd remove that bug shield.....like in the driveway right after the title changed hands! lol.

If it didn't come with one, a locking gas cap.
My fuel economy jumped by 3 mpg when I put mine on, also noticed the neighbor kid quit driving so much. Now he has a rather large hole threw the grill, radiator and water pump.

HA!
Well I think the alarm system is a good idea. As for the other suggestions I will have to ponder upon for awhile. Homework
Thanks all for you input.

What do they say about guys with large pictures of trucks?
Anyway I have a few shots on the Introduction forum that you can check out

remove the bug screen? It's stylish! But that's what closed the deal when I bought it! Why? You think it's ugly? Is it okay to keep if I'm over thirty?

ugggg....you made me work! lol.

Went and looked at your intro thread(DARN attached pics don't link to anywhere!). And if it were my truck, here's some things I would do:

-Replace tailights with something else, send old tails to Seattle.
-Replace headlights and turnsignal/corner lamps with a set of 'euro clear' ones.
-Paint antenna black or get a black shorty antenna.
-Install 98-05 'styled' manual mirrors.
-Remove the stylin' bug shield.

I'm sorry...I can't seem to pick one thing out! haha. All those are fairly cheap things to do too.

And for some inspiration, here's my friend Billy's truck about a 2 years ago...

And here it is today(01-03 hood and bumper)...

The headlights and signals...
