Believe me, you'll KNOW if you're in low range if you're in 5th gear at 15 mph. And when you hit the throttle or let go of the clutch, the truck would literally TAKE OFF.

Imagine slamming on the brakes and your body goes forward, but instead of the brakes, it's the gas and your body goes backward. Neck snap.

Do you like.....never drive your truck? It's pretty obvious if you're in low range or not. I'm leaning way towards it being a trouble code.

push the 4hi button, then the 2hi button. or simply move the lever all the way forward on the floor. that's if it's truely mechanically in 4low.

If electric shift, could be the switch or the shift motor on the tcase. both fairly common faults on these trucks.

Does it have a manually shifted transfer case or a pushbutton transfer case?

On the pushbutton trucks, the 4x4 and Low Range indicator lights are controlled by the Electric Shift Control Module. I think 93 has two sets of lights, one set in the instrument cluster and the other by the pushbuttons. Are both Low Range lights on?

My Wiring Manual shows that you have a low range light in the instrument cluster and another low range light by the buttons. Are they both on?
