Default Interior - Leg Room

I am 6 foot 5 inches and although I want a new Ranger I have the impression it might be tight for me. I looked at the Ranger and the F-150 leg room specs in their catalogs and would you believe the Ranger is one inch longer! I guess the 150 is out of the question.
Another thing. My buddy has a 2007 model with the V6 but to me it seems to be underpowered. I don't want to burn rubber but I also don't want to be straining the engine at highway speeds. Can anything be done.? Within reason of course.

Which v6? 3.0 no power, 4.0 has power.

I am 6'3", but my my torso is longer than most, so leg room is not a problem. Head room if I am wearing a hat my head will hit the roof.

I'm 6'7", and have plenty of room in my extended cab. I test drove a 2004 regular cab when I was looking a few years ago, and it just didn't have the leg room. Neither does my wife's 2001 Mountaineer. Stick with the Extended cab, and you should be good to go.

My '02 has the 4.0 V6, and it has plenty of power.

Interesting. In the 2010 catalog they show the leg room at 42" for both cabs. My problem is leg length. I like to have the back of my thighs lying on the seat, not raised above.

yeah my 4.0 is powerful! I love my extended cab too. try to find you a 4x4 Supercab 4 door (I regret not getting 4-door) with the 4.0L SOHC. you won't regret it. Possibly an fx4 package if you can swing it ( i have just the 4x4 package), heck go all out and find you an FX4 Level II Ranger. They come with all the bells and whistles---BFG all terrains, Alcoa Wheels, Bilstien Shocks (or Rancho, i cant remember), Torsen L/S Differential, 4.10 gears, and if you cna find an 01-03, they have manual transfer case. also they usually come with an all black interior with wither leaher seats or fabric seats with colored inserts...

i wouldnt bother with a brand new Range to tell you the truth, they have no options

You can load a performance computer tune to wake-up the V6. I'm ordering an x-cal3 from Brenspeed in a couple of weeks ( $379.00 ). This will help when pulling my boat trailer over the hills. When not towing, I'll program the computer back to "stock". It takes about 90 sec to make the change. I loaded an x-cal2 in my mustang 4yrs ago. It makes a BIG difference over stock performance.

I'm 6 ft 3 250, I don't have a problem with leg room. I do have head room problems lol And the other thing is I like to spread out, the boys need to breathe, but other than that its good. Seats are a little hard. I wouldn't buy anything but an extended cab. My other truck is a GMC Sonoma standard cab and it is more comfortable to me leg room wise but not enough I notice till I've been driving for 8 hours, and I can spread out more in that truck.

I'm 5'10" and the head room is a joke. Maybe part of it is because I keep the seat back pretty upright, but I have about 2" between my dome and the headliner.

I'd like to avoid a rollover.

BTW, I believe the manual t-case was only in '02 (4x4 Off Road) and '03 (FX4 Level II), not '01.

I suggest just finding someone with a ranger and sitting in it (EG: dealership). I know someone who is about 6'6" and he says he doesn't have a problem, but IMHO it depends on how you sit. I can't see myself being 6'4" and still fitting in a Ranger the same way I do now but I imagine it's 100% dependent on how you sit and what YOU feel is comfortable.

I am 17 yrs old, bout 6'2 1/2 without shoes. I can drive my 97 supercab with no problems and i drive a manual so i gotta have the clutch action too haha. And my seat isnt even all the way back. one notch from all the way back. and my legs are pretty long compared to my torso. just like my dad who is 6'4" and drove this truck for 12 years for 2 hours everyday
