Default powder coating

any1 here have 1? im sure u could make some money off of us coating lug nuts atleast thats what i would like neways....any info on powder coating can u spray it with a normal paint gun and bake them in the oven? lol

......There's more to just baking the paint. The powder coat is applied electrostatically...

well of cours it couldnt b as easy as spraying and baking lol i have not the slightest idea of how its done just a idea

They sell powder coating kits. But they are not as good as a "professional" job.

it must be a expensive process cause colored lugs on ebay are like 70 bucks....i spent like 2 hours just sanding and preping mine then painted and cleared them just 4 it 2 b demolished when i put them on it was a complete fail

the place we use hangs all the parts, then washes them in different solutions that etch the metal, then rinse with de-ionized water. from there, it can either be primered or straight coated, then baked.

the coat goes on as a powder, and it was so loud in there that i couldn't properly hear the guy talking, but essentially they charge the powder either positive or negative, the part the opposite charge, and then the powder sticks to the metal and the baking process makes it tough as shit.

i found a nice little toy in jegs aparently they have a gun and specail paint u can buy 2 powder coat i think the gun is 99 bucks says all u need is a electric or toster over

Just remember that powder coating holds up better than paint but it can still chip.... dealing with lugs I wouldn't be surprised if you get some defects just on the reinstallation

Eastwood Hot Coat Powder Coat

Buddy of mine has one of these that he does small PC stuff with. I've done a few small things with it. As soon as I got a lil extra cabbage, Ima get one and a old oven from the Goodwill and have at it!!

it would definatley make ya some money im sure tons of guys on here would pay 4 parts 2 b pc i know i would and i much rather give money 2 a fellow rangerist than a over priced money hungry shop....btw if u get 1 and do ur lug nuts let me know how they turn out im almost tempted 2 buy 1 just 4 this specific reason lol
