your dealer must be pretty anal, i know around here they cant void warranty unless they can prove that the mod was the problem

Not mine, my friends. It's probaly best to leave it stock till the warrenties are gone.that way the dealer can't make excusses.

I have been wondering about replacing my '98 Ranger either with a new or newer one or stepping up to the F-150. I do like the better gas mileage and smaller footprint of the Ranger but size has advantages too. Interesting lots of support on this thread from Ranger owners for moving to the F-150

Hahahaaa!!...

I went the other way... got rid of my 2009 F-150 Screw XLT 4X4 w/ "chrome and tow" 5.4 Triton, Synch, and got another (4th) Ranger. The Screw was really nice... spacious... a looker. But she was just to big. Wait till you try parking at your local grocery store. Pull up to any drive thru. I had the big mirrors and I was forever scraping them on walls, drive through windows, etc. It's a good thing they fold back and forth. I was parked on the main street and another fellow with big mirrors (tow truck) tried to take my drivers side off just passing a tad to close. I really liked the rig, but decided that I didn't really need that much truck. So I picked up a neat 2011 Ranger XLT and now I'm happy as a clam. The Boss (wife) can even drive it

Unless you need the bigger truck stay with Ranger. Love mine. I think the bigger trucks get more looks and people make think they are nicer, but Like others have said after driving bigger trucks they are just a pain to maneuver and park anywhere. Just my wife, dog, and I so Ranger suites well.

i dunno why everyone says the f150 is so big, i dont find mine "too big" you just have to watch what your doing, and plan ahead just like you should be doing in every vehicle

No doubt, the F-150 is huge, but not as big feeling as the current Tundra. Drive an F-250/350 and the F-150 feels like a sports car. But yeah like the others are saying if you don't "need" a bigger truck stick with the Ranger. I use my truck for work, and having 600-700 lbs in the bed of my 2.3L Ranger daily was not comfortable to deal with. I now don't even notice the load is in the truck.

I also agree with the poster who said his '09 F-150 was hard to park, it is, and often sucks finding a spot big enough. I'm also 5'6'' and with my tool box on the bed I can't see anything out the back or over the huge tailgate & bed sides. But I like I can put stuff in the bed and people walking by can't really see into the bed like they could on my Ranger.
