Well, My thought if it would have been smaller was to hone out the vents. To fill the void!

Ya I have the quick release on it but I don't like having to get out every time I go to school to take it off. So I just have an antenna that my grandpa gave me mounted on it during the weekdays that barely sticks up above the cab

that works too. I almost got into a crash pulling into a parking garage at the mall cause I forgot about my antenna and slammed on the brakes so I could jump out and take it off. You should have seen the ugly looks I was getting

hahaha yup, I've experienced that a few times. Most of the time I forget its even there and I don't remember until I start hearing the antenna hit the cab. The spring makes it nice and flexible though so I'm not too worried about damaging it.

last summer when i had the tall whip on my focus, we went down to the houston museum of natural science. i pulled in the parking garage forgetting about the antenna. it scraped the ceiling up 4 levels lol.

ok so i got everything installed but my coax is 2 feet short anyone know where i can get an extender?

DOH! Radio Shack should have it. Just get an RG58 or RG8 jumper and a PL259 barrel to connect the male ends together, like a creepy threesome.

However, it would be much better as far as loss goes to just use the right length of coax to begin with. Just get whatever you have now plus 3ft.

not quite. i have my cb mounted on my ceiling. if it was on the dash it would have reached it.

to mount it i just used a razor to cut 2 slits in my head liner and pushed my mounting bracket through from above. nice and sturdy without having to drill any holes or screw anything
