Exterior Idea
So I was thinking . . . I know that bad . But with my granddad being 89 or there abouts, and my enjoyment for reading and studying WW II era history, I thought about painting my truck an Army Green with his former rank and theater of operation insignia decaled on it in honor of him seeing how he probably may only live a few more years.
Anybody creative enough to take my truck picture an photo shop a Corporal's insignia and China Burm India insignia.

Throw up some pics of the truck and the insignias...I am sure someone will take a go at it.

sounds great! but, ask your grandpa if he would want you to do that. sometimes, Vets (like myself) don't want people making a fuss over them. My parents were also vets, but unless you ask, you'd never know it.

Not a bad idea. I would defiantly ask him though. He may be proud if you just represent the army instead of just him

I like the idea. Post pics of the truck and the insignias you want and I can attempt it.

I know he wouldn't mind. I just spoke with him via email (he lives in Florida), about when he dies, in a very tactful manner, that I would like to have the flag that drapes his coffin since his kid's will get everything else, and my uncle has his uniform tucked away which I covet very much.
His initial response was that he didn't care for a military honors funeral b/c he felt he did not perform as dutifully as he should have (issue of prid), but he then said since it means so much to me that it would be okay as long as his kid's (my dad and his siblings) were fine with it.
I think he's very proud of the fact that I'm the only one who cares about what he did, and, his word's to me were " It does mean much to me that you would want it (the flag)." He also says that I'm one of very few people who contact him ever veteran's day.
My granddad is a very honorable yet humble man. He struggled in life first with pride and then with trying to make a living, but in the end has lived a very fruitful life. He and my grandma raised 5 children all to be hard working and honorable, and grandkids have all grown up to be respectable people. So in short his legacy is grand.

Well . . .I thought about putting the the ATC logo on the driver door, and the US Army Air Force on the Right passenger door just like the enlisted person had on their sleeves, and the CBI logo on the hood.
