Thanks

Yep that is one thing I noticed right away when first driving it, and still. Is that the brakes are absolutly stellar. Very grabby, at times almost to a fault. But a good fault. Must say much more responsive than the four wheel disk system I had (and was used to) on my 2003 Jeep TJ Rubicon (previous vehicle / bought new).

dixie_boysles I've admired those Alcoas for quite a few years now Niceeee!

surfer03133 how do ya find the U/D pulleys? Any noticable extra pep? I've been surfing the web lookin at"em, Sweeeeeet.

In regards for them axing the LS...I honestly don't know why. It could have been a compatibility issue with the RSC....but I was under the impression that all 2010 rangers have a form of traction control aka the Limited Slip replacement in my mind. I really havn't dug too deep into it. I'm also thinking it could just be them being cheap as hell, looking at LS sales figures, axed it, and only sell rangers with 8.8's too. Havn't found a 4cyl 2wd locally yet to take a peek and see what axle's under it. I'm thinking with the new axle housing w/ discs and bracketry BS for the RSC and traction control, it's possible they just have one axle across the board.

Again, not much research on my end yet. lol.

Your probably right about that. Cheapin out or like you and I have said it's something to do with RSC. I have tried to find out more about my 2010 diff but as of yet no info (I'll let ya know if I find anything / and if you do could ya let me know?). As to wether all 2010 rangers have a form of traction control aka the Limited Slip replacement. I believe they do, at least here in CND anyway.

Never driven a locked Ranger. But I had four Jeeps 1992 YJ, 1999 TJ Sahara, 2001 Cherokee Limited, and a 2003 TJ Rubicon (all 4.0L). And I can testify hands down that the air lockers on the Rubicon (with 4:10 Dana 44's front and rear) made a world of differance over my other three Jeeps without. Only in some off road situations though (as airlockers are only used in 4X4 LOW) hands down stellar prefomance (night and day differance between with and with out). It would crawl through or up almost anything. I had Goodyear MTR 235/85R16 on it as well.

Cheers Jeff

Hey Scott

Thanks for the offer. But I just had the new MTR's put on my new stock rims one week after I bought the truck. Absolutly could not live with the Goodyear RTS's that were on it. After being used to driving with MTR's (three previous sets). I kinda like the new rims (not sure if I like em as much as yours though). I'm gonna give it a little time at least, and see if I warm up to them. Thanks for the offer though.

What do you think of these rims? Anybody else? I'd like your thoughts on these rims?

Cheers Jeff

Based on Ford.ca, it appears that the 2011 FX4 have the 4.10 limited slip feature. Maybe I should have waited an extra year.

I just looked on fordvehicles.com and LS is available on the 2011 Rangers, but it wasn't available for 2010. Kinda pisses me off, I would've waited for a 2011 if I would've known they were going to bring LS back.

You and me both. It's a piss off allright, because when I bought my 2010 I asked for the L/S option. But the answer was not available. Either I'm going to upgrade it to L/S or buy a locker now. Is it true all 2010's are 31 spline??? Haven't measured my axle tubes yet.

Maybe ford had a bunch of L/S' leftover from 2009, and decided since 2011 is the end of the ranger, they'd better use them up.

Lol! You'd figure they'd have used em up last year 2010 and the rest of em this year 2011. To make sure all were used up before the shut down. Then again they probably had a surplus of Open diffs to dump off on us 2010 owners (guess us 2010 owners are undeserving of an L/S option lol). Better for them being left with L/S diffs than Opens, Bastards!

Just to add in on a few things people have said. I have a 2008 Ranger sport and i remember reading that someone said they come with nothing stock in canada. I bought mine in the US but it came from Ontario. It had really nothing, very basic. No power windows/locks, no floor carpeting... etc. Everything is an option apparently. I'm pretty sure it's the same in the US.
