Default I HAVE A 2003 FORD RANGER W.70,000 MILES ON it. it started making a...

...screeching sound coming from the rear..? when i accelerate it makes a sound close to that of metal scraping. I have to be driving for it to happen obviously so i cant see exactly what is making the sound= does anyone have any ideas?

go underneath the car while parked and see if the driveshaft is loose

the u joints may be going bad

can be easily replaced

just crawl under car and twist drive shaft

replace both the front and the back

they are like 10 dollars a piece

Does it stop or get worse when you apply the brakes? It could also be a rear wheel bearing.

happened to me on my old truck
idont know how i got low on oil ha

I'd put money on the brakes. Does the sound change when you apply the brakes?
