Default Help help help

My dad is the General Manager of a dealership and he just started there. There is a ton of junk vehicles on the lot and he is trying to clean up the lot well I just happened to go up there and see a 1998 Ford Ranger 4x4 straight drive with 40,000 miles on it. Well everything looks great except a few things the the hood dosen't stay down all the way and the rear bumper is bent down or something. The radio has been removed and a couple panels on the inside have been taken off and layed around inside the truck. When you put the key in and turn you get nothing but it might just be a dead battery they say it has been sitting there for a while or for all I know the enigine might be blown. My dad is having one of the mechanics look at it tommorrow and tell me exactly what is wrong with it. I really want to project truck and this looks like it would be the perfect one. If I happen to find out it needs a new engine what would be the most you wouild pay for it. I might be able to get it for 300 dollars but we willl see tommorrow. Any advice will be greatly appriciated I am very excited and want any input you all might have.
