What are the best "free" performance mods for my 2001 4x4? I checked the "How To" section and saw the Air Box Mod but didn't know how many of you had done that and how you liked it...didn't exactly know how much it had helped out. If you know of any other mods or you have something to say about the air box mod, feel free to leave your comments. Thanks

You can do the throttle cable mod. Air box mod just makes a different sound from what I understand no real power gains, the throttle mod take the slack out of the throttle cable, search it and it will come up. I feel more get up now that I did that mod.

Air box mod made it sound cool at full throttle, and throttle cable mod gave me my "pep" back.

I tightened up the throttle cable on my mothers old Avalon. Due to the different design the pedal would not just sag like it will in the rangers, there was an actual dead spot where you could mass it down about an inch. That was a few years ago and her new Altima has no throttle cable.
