Default 1999 3.0 Flex Fuel Change to gasoline

I have a bad 3.0 Flex Fuel engine- has anyone successfully changed engines using a gasoline only 3.0.

Yes it is possible

Only difference in flex fuel and gasoline engines are
Fuel Injectors
Fuel Tank
Fuel Filter
Fuel Lines

They are all different due to the ethanol in the fuel. Ethanol would destroy a regular tank and lines.

As long as the engine you get you use new injectors or if it comes with them you will be fine.

It would also have to be from a 1998 or older or an 2001 or newer because for some odd reason, Ford didn't put any gas-only 3.0's in 1999 or 2000 Rangers.

Any particular reason to change the parts out? I would imagine that there's no performance or efficiency hit in keeping the flex fuel parts…it just lets you run E85 if you wanted to…right?

Correct E85 is cheaper. There are no real benefits to running it. It burns faster causing you to fill up more.

Is there any benefit to the truck in swapping flex fuel parts for non-flex fuel parts? Are there performance or efficiency differences in changing out the injectors? I can't imagine that having any impact at all…other than a lighter wallet.
