| | off roading tips for begginer
Hello,
I have a stock 2000 V6 3.0 flex fuel XLT ranger. What should i do to it. so i can traverse over down small logs and small rocks. and to have clearance and enough room for flexing the sides. What kind of lift kit should i get. And i also drive this truck to school and to work. and i do moderate off roading. me and my friend just go into off roading. we found a trail near his house. 3" spindle lift would be a good start
limited slip rear would help

generally to go down you have to get up! bigger tires will help with clearance issues, then you will need a BL or SL to clear the bigger tires. Seems how you have the 3.0, regearing might not be a bad idea for those bigger tires

I would suggest a good all terrain tire like the BFgoodrich or Cooper ST maxx

mud tires and an L/S or better yet, an e-locker but it all depends on how much offroading youre going to do and how much of it you want to get into lol

No i really hardly have to use my 4wd when i go but yea limited slip rear end from a fx4 or fx4 level 2 would be nice. Spindle/spacer lift or spindles and 31s or 32s perhaps a body lift. But just tread lightly and enjoy nature

The only time i use 4x4 is when im in mud. Which I dont go into much because its a hassle. We ride power line roads where I live. Trail riding is more fun to me. But yeah 4x4 is a neccisity but it sure helps in a tight spot.

If you are going over obstacles, as far as actual driving tips goes, GO SLOW! I see a lot of guys just bombing through trails, and that's just asking for something to break. If you go slow and have a good spotter or passenger, you may be able to catch something before it turns into a disaster, and back off the skinny or even back up and go around it.
And yeah, tread lightly.

my advice. if it looks like you cant do it without wrecking anything..then dont fucking do it! rock crawling on a 4x2 is hard and risky other than that...have a blast!
----------
and always make sure you have money for a tow or any fixing that is needed. if you dont and u break something and this is ur dd. u could be screwed. i should follow my own advice a little more often
