The Factory Jack
The O.E.M. jack in my '02 Edge looks pretty small and convoluted in design. Do you guys carry something else, a small floor jack or some kind of after-market high-lift jack?

I've used my stock jack with wooden blocks in my driveway before, not something I would want to try and do in a moment of desperation. Though now I have a farm jack courtesy of my neighbor which I sometimes take when I'm offroading, luckily I haven't had to use it yet.

I have an older Ford bottle jack, and older handle... Most of the time, in either of my vehicles there are enough tools, etc to build a car...
Never have had to replace a tire on either Ranger yet... (Knock on wood).

I just carry the factory jack.
When I first got the truck, I "practiced" with it for a while so when the time comes, (at midnight on the side of the road) I won't have to screw around since I already know the routine. It's good enough for me.

Re: The Factory Jack
bump...
had a blowout yesterday and laughed when the factory jack wouldnt get the rim off the ground.
I do have AAA, but I'm the kind of guy who just wants to handle it himself. Thank goodness for the METRO
Do want to try and see if I can buy a bottle jack that would replace the factory one in the truck...

Jack placement is critical. It has to go under the axle in the back or under that tab on the front lower arm to get the rim off the ground.
