Default oil filter...

i think the gasket and threads on the oil filter i had on my 1994 sonoma will fit my 2010 ranger 2.3L. its the same diameter but a bit longer. i have two filters from the old gmc. can i use them on the ranger with the slightly larger capacity?

If it fits you could use it. However I would not use it. I would just buy the right one.

If it is still in the box go to parts store and tell them your wife got the wrong one.

^haha

Even if they dont take it back a motorcraft one is like $4. It's just not worth it to chance. You have a brand new truck. Take care of it.
