Goodbye Ranger
today was a sad day for me
i went to the shop about my ranger and found out that my ranger that has done over 600k thru 2 motors has finaly died. the entire left side blew out and it wont be running anymore. I cried.
RIP Boomer

Re: Goodbye Ranger
hopefully ill be able to fine a new ranger i may get an f150 just anything that isnt a chevy thatll get me to work and school for now.... im lookin around for a ranger im deffinately getting one later on in life if i dont get it now ill admit i cried a bit but the rebuild would cost 1500 on engine and idk if thatll be worth it in the long run with the age of this truck

Re: Goodbye Ranger
If the truck/frame are still in good shape it would be worth the rebuild. However if the trucks on the verge of falling apart then it wouldn't be.

Re: Goodbye Ranger
It would be cheaper to throw in a used motor from a junkyard rather than buying a new truck, especially an F150 which would get worse MPG. Something to consider.

Re: Goodbye Ranger
Just let it go man...let it go. Its in a better place now. LOL
But seriously, it might be cheaper to do a rebuild then it would to find another Ranger for 1500 bucks. But as Mike said, you have to take into account other things...tranny condition, body condition, exc. If things are falling apart, don't bother.

Re: Goodbye Ranger
Sounds like if the truck is still in decent shape it needs a 5.0
