Default '04 3.0 install new battery

I know, I know, probably super simple but....I don't have a manual and it's been a while since I put a battery in so I don't want to screw up! Just want to get it done without a problem. Nothing wrong with my truck had battery routinely checked at oil change and battery needed to be replaced. So, is there anything to know so I don't shock myself or..whatever. Thanks, Gloria

Nope just make sure that bracket is there to hold battery down. Connect the ground then connect the positive.

Depends if it is the original battery it may have a heat shield wrapped around it

I am so glad to hear that. I can afford Walmart. I ask the guys at work and they said Walmart battery was supported by "Consumer Reports" but I wanted to hear it from a car enthusiast. Thanks again. I hope it will be a while before I have to ask for more car advice. My last relationship with a car forum was for my old '91 Honda CRX. I just lost that car to a very large Dodge Ram truck who backed up over my hood at a non functioning security gate and his bumper hit my windshield. I was always afraid I would have a serious injury if I got in an accident in the CRX so if it had to happen I'm glad we were not going but 5 mi and hour. I am loving my newish Ford Ranger from Carmax. The only problem I've had with it is with the sealant around the windshield's (both). I started having loud howling on windy days at say 45 mi/hr, couldn't figure out what that was about then at the carwash I noticed my front windshield coming out of the black rubber molding. Got that reglued $50. Then I realized at the automatic car wash lots of water coming through around the back glass, went back to auto glass place and they said the butyl installed back glass had hardened so was allowing the water to come through, reglued at $135. They had to remove the glass and reinstall. Could have been worse, said they sometimes broke it. I'm all good now. Wondering why Ford would use this butyl sticking tape if it doesn't last longer than four years. Gloria
