There is only one model that fits the 1999+ ranger. If you had clicked on the description, you'd know.

But since i'm nice, it's the PL2310.

The c model is a variant in chrome finish.

I was referring to the original question, not the alternative product.

I had the same problem as you on my 1994 mazda b3000. I called tech support and the tech told me the lock piece should face down when it was installed and it should fit into a notch in the bed handle when you lock it. I took it apart to check for the notch and my handle didnt have a notch. I marked the spot with a pencil and used a hacksaw to cut a notch into my handle. It s called redneck enginineering and now it locks like it should. thanks Tom

chech out this video if you need install help

http://www.youtube.com/user/PopAndLockCorp

the locking piece should be toward the bottom when the unit is unlocked and swivels up when locked-it can be adjusted if it's facing up by loosening the screw and readjusting and then tightening.

if there is no notch in you bed handle mark it with a pencil and make a notch with a hack saw-then it will lock as it should-I just did mine tonite after being frustrated last weekend, thanks Tom
